Yorkshire urology clinic
About Us
The Yorkshire Urology clinic is delivered by Mr Mohammed Aldiwani; a Consultant Urological Surgeon with a broad and comprehensive background in general and specialist urology.
Originally from Leeds, he completed his medical degree at the University of Manchester in 2010. Following graduation, he embarked on his early postgraduate training across Yorkshire, during which he also gained invaluable international clinical experience through placements in Sydney, Australia and Cape Town, South Africa. These diverse settings helped him develop a well-rounded and adaptable approach to patient care early in his career.
TRAINING
Mr Aldiwani undertook higher specialist training in London, where he had exposure to a wide range of general urological conditions and cutting-edge treatments, including innovative approaches for benign prostatic enlargement such as bipolar TURP, Urolift and Aqua-ablation.
Subspecialist cancer training was centred at the internationally renowned Royal Marsden Hospital in Chelsea, a world leader in cancer care.
Mr Aldiwani then completed the highly coveted Royal College of Surgeons accredited Robotic renal cancer fellowship at Frimley Park Hospital, Surrey. Here, he mastered the skills of the retroperitoneal robotic approach to kidney surgery (accessing the kidney from the back), making him one of the very few high volume retroperitoneal surgeons in the country.
Mr Aldiwani is now based at Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust, where he leads and contributes to a busy and varied urology service. His NHS subspecialty interests include robotic DaVinci surgery for kidney cancer and complex kidney conditions, as well as endourology, focusing on the management of urinary stones and prostate disorders. In addition to his specialist work, he plays an active role in supporting and delivering the general urology service for the region.
Throughout his career, Mr Aldiwani has remained committed to maintaining the highest standards of training, clinical excellence, and patient-centred care. He strives to offer each of his patients a personalised experience, ensuring they feel fully supported, informed, and involved in their treatment decisions at every stage.
Having returned to Yorkshire with his wife and two young sons, Mr Aldiwani values being close to family and raising his children in the area where he grew up. Outside of his clinical work, he is passionate about the outdoors and enjoys activities such as cycling, skiing, and family adventures in nature.
